Decision on Brown expected later this week Western Kentucky sophomore basketball forward Arnika Brown’s status with the Lady Toppers remained unchanged as of this morning, as school officials continue to discuss whether to discipline her in light of Brown’s recent indictment.
Todd
Stewart, WKU’s associate athletic director for communication, said a decision is expected by the end of the week.
Brown faces 11 counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, class C felonies, and five counts of theft by deception under $300, class A misdemeanors, stemming from an August incident in her hometown of Hopkinsville. Brown was arrested Aug. 9 after police said she used counterfeit money at five local businesses.
She is scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial conference Jan. 7.
WKU will play its only exhibition game of the season against DT3 at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Lady Toppers will open the regular season Nov. 14, when they host Murray State.
